Who we are

SD Design Studios is a young, dynamic, innovative design studio founded by Som Datta located Perth, Australia.
The principal Som’s background is in Design and Project Management with about 15 years of practical experience in Building Design during which he has worked for some of best architectural firms in Australia and overseas, including working with Pritzker Prize Laureate Dr. B.V. Doshi. Som is an overseas registered Architect and has completed his Bachelor's degree in Architecture from a reputed University with qualification accredited by AACA (Architects Accreditation Council of Australia) and has got a Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) [Builder's Registration] from Tafe, Western Australia.

Som is passionate about architecture and believes that the best designs are those which are minimalist in style yet able to fulfill the complex spatial needs of its users.

Som's variety of experience from residential, commercial through to industrial projects results in unique user-centered design solutions that are characterized by its crisp, simple yet original style.
